Each year, from 1 September, die Global Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, to 4 October, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, many Anglicans use the Season of Creation – also known as Creation Time –
to pray and commit themselves to the care and healing of the Earth. Archbishop Zacharie Masimango Katanda, Primate of the Province de l’Eglise Anglicane du Congo, comments:
“The environment is God’s gift to everyone, and in our use of it we have a responsibility towards the poor, towards future generations and towards humanity as a whole. . . Changes in lifestyle based on traditional moral virtues can ease the way to a sustainable and equitable world economy….”
At St. Alban’s, the Sunday School has taken up this theme for the coming weeks.
Creation Time culminates with Harvest Festival on 14 Octobe, followed by a Harvest Lunch at Baggersee.
