Christmas Services at St. Alban’s

Following the Eucharist on 22nd December, the fourth Sunday in Advent,  all who enjoy singing carols are invited to join a group of singers who are raising money for the Salvation Army to support their work with the homeless in Strasbourg.

Meet at 14.30h in the city centre at Place Kléber, corner of Rue des Grandes Arcades, outside Monoprix.

On Christmas Eve at 17.30h in the Protestant chapel of the “old” Hôpital Civil, Porte de l’Hôpital, trams A and D. This is quite a short service to which in particular families with children are invited. The chapel is small and a welcome pool of calm in the midst of Christmas Market bustle.

To find the chapel, go through the main entrance archway and immediately on the left there are some steps going into the building. Go up those steps and the chapel is the first door on the left.

At 10.30h at the Église des Dominicains, 41 Boulevard de la Victoire, corner of Rue de l’Université, tram stop Observatoire, trams C, E, F.

At 16.30h at the Église des Dominicains, 41 Boulevard de la Victoire, corner of Rue de l’Université, tram stop Observatoire, trams C, E, F.

This service is based on the traditional Nine Lessons and Carols.

Place at the Christmas table for a refugee?

Do you have a place at the table for a young refugee this Christmas?

The Centre Bernanos is a local youth association linked to Christ Réssuscité  parish at the edge of the university campus. Since 2016 the centre has given shelter to about 70 young refugees (age 15-20), most having fled extreme circumstances or war. Most have suffered some form of physical and/or psychological trauma.

If you have a place at the table for one or two youth this Christmas, either for the evening meal of the 24th or the midday meal on the 25th, please speak with fr Mark for more information. This would give to these young men the possibility of experiencing the holidays « en famille » rather than remaining at the centre for Christmas.
